MEETING THE FABULOUS NIGELLA LAWSON FOR THE AT MY TABLE BOOK-SIGNING IN YORK. SHE WAS A DREAM TO WORK WITH!

I ORGANISED A VERY BUSY BOOK-SIGNING EVENT WITH DAVID MITCHELL FOLLOWING THE RELEASE OF HIS AUTOBIOGRAPHY. I GAVE HIM A BETTY'S GIFT BAG... HE GAVE ME HIS TWIX BAR

HAD A GREAT DAY WITH ALAN CUMMING: A BOOK-SIGNING IN THE AFTERNOON, FOLLOWED BY A BOOKSTALL AT HIS SOLD-OUT THEATRE SHOW. HE EVEN INVITED ME TO GO TO POPWORLD WITH HIM (I DECLINED)

NO-ONE DOES A BOOK-SIGNING QUITE LIKE DEREK LANDY! THIS WAS US AFTER THE 4-HOUR QUEUE HAD FINALLY COME TO AN END. EXHAUSTING BUT SO MUCH FUN

I SPENT A GLORIOUSLY SUNNY DAY TRAVELLING ACROSS YORKSHIRE WITH DAVID ALMOND FOR TWO SCHOOL EVENTS AND A STORE BOOK-SIGNING

I MET LOTS OF CRIME AUTHORS WHILE RUNNING THE POP-UP BOOKSHOP FOR HULL NOIR, BUT HAD THE BIGGEST LAUGH WITH MARTINA COLE

THE YORK FESTIVAL OF IDEAS IS A 12-DAY EVENT ORGANISED BY THE UNIVERSITY OF YORK. IT HAS BEEN IMMENSE FUN TO RUN THE POP-UP BOOKSHOP FOR THIS SINCE 2015 AND THIS YEAR I WILL BE RUNNING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME AS AN INDEPENDENT BOOKSELLER

PENNY THORPE WAS DELIGHTFUL COMPANY WHEN WE SPENT THE DAY AT THE NESTLE HQ IN YORK LAUNCHING HER DEBUT NOVEL, THE QUALITY STREET GIRLS. ADDED BONUS: LOTS OF CHOCOLATE!

AS THE EVENTS MANAGER FOR WATERSTONES YORK, I ORGANISED AND RAN THE BBC HISTORY WEEKEND BOOKSHOP FOR 3 YEARS RUNNING. A HUGE CHALLENGE, BUT SO MUCH FUN!

SPENT A JOYOUS AFTERNOON AT THE GRANGE HOTEL IN YORK PROVIDING A BOOKSTALL FOR MATT HAIG'S LITERARY LUNCH CELEBRATING HOW TO STOP TIME

PITCHING FOR AND LANDING A BIG LITERARY EVENT IS AN ENORMOUS PLEASURE. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO ORGANISE AN EVENT WITH ELIZABETH STROUT - ONE OF ONLY 2 IN THE UK - AT YORK EXPLORE LIBRARY

I'VE LOST TRACK OF HOW MANY SCHOOL EVENTS I'VE ORGANISED OVER THE YEARS, BUT ONE OF THE MOST ENJOYABLE WAS THE WEEK-LONG TOUR I EMBARKED ON WITH YORK AUTHOR A. P. WINTER FOR THE LAUNCH OF HIS DEBUT, THE BOY WHO WENT MAGIC

THE BIG MALARKEY CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL. I SPENT A WHOLE DAY DAY BUILDING THIS POP-UP BOOKSHOP, AND A WHOLE DAY TAKING IT DOWN AFTER A WEEK OF LOVELY EVENTS WITH SCHOOLS IN HULL

I HAVE ORGANISED BOOKSTALLS FOR THE NAWE CONFERENCE MORE TIMES THAN I CAN REMEMBER, BUT MY FAVOURITE EVER WAS THE ONE WHERE I GOT TO MEET ALAN BENNETT. VERY FUNNY, VERY TALL, AND NOT THE SLIGHTEST BIT GRUMPY ABOUT BEING IN YORK  (APPARENTLY HE DOESN'T LIKE IT MUCH)

LOTS OF YOUNG FANS WERE ENTHRALLED WHEN DAME JACQUELINE WILSON VISITED ST PETER'S SCHOOL IN YORK FOR A SOLD-OUT SHOW
